WARDROBE
EGYPT: THE GLORIOUS 18TH DYNASTY carries the student on a Journey through the lives and visual styles of three 18th Dynasty
rulers, as seen through, the Royal Couture Collection (Period Costumes) of ancient African attire, created by fashion
historian/designer, Sakkara Ingrid Thomas.
EXAMINE AS AN "ARCHEOLOGIST"
The ancient Egyptians
employed the art of symbolism in all they created, from their massive temples and public monuments, to their written language,
Medu Neter or hieroglyphics. Symbolism was an irreplaceable element within the Egyptian world view. As volunteer students
are dressed in the royal attire their peer explore and examine the colorful period costumes, crowns, gowns, tunics and diamond
beaded collars, much like an "archeologist" would some fossils from the past.
MAKE
GROUP DISCOVERIES
Collectively, students discover several symbols in the form of reptiles,
birds, mammals and stars incorporated within the royal attire, fostering increased understanding and appreation of the ancient
Egyptian's history, culture and religion.
